Beyond Behaviour: A Different Way to Respond
Many of us grew up with the idea that we must "follow through" with punishments like time-outs or withdrawal of privileges to ensure a child learns. However, research now shows that these methods often break the connection at the very moment a child needs us most. You might recognise the yell-guilt cycle: reacting to a challenging behaviour with frustration, only to feel a heavy sense of regret and disconnection afterward.
If you are tired of seeing your child "as the problem" and want to move past the exhaustion of constant discipline battles, this program offers a different path. We shift the focus from managing behaviour to understanding the neurobiology of connection.
Under the guidance of our expert facilitators, you will explore the bridge between your own childhood experiences and how you show up as a carer today. By learning how to "be with" your child in their biggest emotions, you can break intergenerational patterns and confidently meet their needs.
Imagine the relief of no longer seeing your child as the problem, but instead confidently knowing how to meet their needs and move forward together with clarity and calm.

AT A GLANCE
The lifelong gift of secure attachment.
The benefits of secure attachment are backed by decades of neurobiological and psychological research. When a child feels truly secure, they don't just "behave" better - they develop the internal resources to navigate life with resilience. Children with secure attachment typically have:
Emotional Resilience: Experience more genuine happiness, higher self-esteem, and less chronic anger.
Social Competence: Build lasting friendships, get along better with siblings, and know how to solve problems with peers effectively.
Trust and Security: Turn to their parents for help when in trouble and trust that the people they love are a safe haven.
Internal Strength: Grow up knowing that most problems have an answer and that they are capable of finding them.
While every parent has positive intentions, research shows that intention alone isn't enough to change the internal "wiring" of a child's security. Our facilitators guide you to become both a Secure Base and a Safe Haven, ensuring your child has the confidence to explore the world and the comfort to return to you when they need it most.
What is Circle of Security Parenting™?
AT A GLANCE
A New Lens: Rather than attempting to manage or control a child's behaviour, Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) offers a new lens through which to see it. It invites parents and carers to look beneath the surface of a particular action to discover the underlying relationship need waiting to be met. When we understand the "why" behind the behaviour, our response naturally shifts from frustration to connection.
The Power of the ‘Map’: The program’s core tool is the Circle of Security ‘Map’ - a clear, visual guide that helps you decode your child’s emotional world. This map takes the complexity of attachment theory and makes it accessible, giving you a handrail to hold onto as you navigate your child’s needs for both exploration and comfort, and your role of taking charge in a kind way.
A Legacy of Research: Circle of Security Parenting is based on more than 60 years of research into attachment theory. It was developed by clinical pioneers to make complex psychological concepts accessible for parents and carers to use in their everyday lives. By moving away from behaviourism, the program provides a framework for making in-the-moment decisions that prioritise the primary engine of development: the relationship.
The Impact of Security: Our work with families and the broader body of neurobiological research clearly shows that security is the foundation for all future growth. When children feel this level of safety and connection, they don't just "behave" better - they flourish. They become more resilient, more equipped to learn, and better equipped to build healthy, lasting relationships for life.
